Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! Our niece Leighten came down for the weekend and dressed up as the tin man, Lexi was Dorothy and Will was a monkey. They went to a party in the morning at their daycare and then trick or treating at night. They (especially Leighten) got so many compliments on their costumes.

Poor Miley. We didn't make her wear this out trick or treating, just for a couple of minutes. She went as Toto when we went trick or treating.

Girls Night Out

My friend Tammy and I took Lexi, my niece Leighten and her daughter Maddie to the much anticipated film High School Musical 3. All three girls loved the movie.

Will's "big boy" bed

Will's first night in his new bed. What room would be complete without a bear rug.

I wish I could take credit for this idea, but I stole it off from the internet. My friend Steve gave me this oar and I sanded it down and painted it red. Rick drilled some holes in it, added some pegs and we hung it on the wall for a hat rack.

Bear piggy bank
Lantern night light I found on e-bay.
I really like the way this verse turned out on the wall, but it wasn't very fun to put up.Bear headmount that Rick picked out. I think it is cute, but kind of creepy - follows you no matter where you are in the room.

Before and After Pics

Here are the before and after pics of Will's room. I am disappointed at how dark they look on the blog as they don't look that bad on the screen. We obviously need more items to finish the room, it looks a little "bear" (LOL), but finding just the right accessories will take a bit more time.

Baby Ayden's Baptism

I was honored to be asked by my friends Jenny and Todd to be godmother to their son Ayden. Today was his baptism at St. Gabriel's in Neenah followed by brunch.

Jenny, Todd, Father Allen and Ayden's godfather/uncle Jeff Bartz.
I got this for Ayden for his baptism present. It is a small block carved with all of his birth information. All six sides have something written on them. One was the place of birth, one was the parents, one was his name, and on the bottom it says it is from his godmother and the other two are pictured. Turned out cute.

Fun Playdate

Tonight our friends the Fischers came over. Maddie and Lexi have been in the same class at our daycare since they were one and now Will and Abbie have been in the same class for the last two years. The kids get along really well, so it was a fun night to get together for pizza and to let the kids run around together. Couldn't resist getting a couple of pics of Abbie and Will because they are so cute together so I thought I would share.

A boy with great taste...

Will LOVES shoes. He is always walking around the house with a pair of shoes other than his own. Even if we are at someone elses house, he will wear their shoes. He doesn't care whether they are girls or boys, if he sees a pair he tries them on.

Rick's winter boots
Lexi's soccer shoes
These are may favorite. He thinks if he has on Lexi's gym shoes he has to run. LOL
Lexi's velvet Christmas shoes
He even wears shoes while vacuuming

Not quite done yet..

I really wanted to get Will's room done, if not Lexi's this weekend. Unfortunately, we didn't quite finish Will's room, more or less Lexi's room. Hopefully we will at least finish Will's by the end of the week. It is very close to being done, just waiting for one more item to come in the mail and we have to hang a shelf yet. Will has been in his "big boy" bed for two nights now and doing very well. Can't wait to post the before and after pics.

This below picture is Lexi sleeping in Will's room Thursday night. We had to move her twin bed in his room to clear her room out for the arrival of her new bed on Friday morning. It was so cute how they were talking in there and having fun bunking together. It made me second guess getting bunkbeds in Will's room so they could sleep in the same room whenever they wanted too. Then...Will woke up early (5:30 a.m.) on Friday morning and woke his sister up too. It was then that I realized it was a great choice NOT to get the bunkbeds. :)
