Relay for Life...

This weekend the kids and I were asked by my friend Deanna to join Team Asenbrenner Insurance in their annual Relay For Life Walk held in Shawano. It was a great experience and we hope to make it an annual event. It was hard not to become emotional at this event after losing mom 7 months ago and also for those survivors out there walking with some battling cancer right now during the survivor's lap. Quite a few of my close friends from Leopolis joined in and a few of my "Leopolis Moms" were there as well. All of us have been affected by cancer by a friend or family member.

The kids and I wore shirts that my sister gave me for my birthday. My shirt said, "Every Day I Miss My Mom", Lexi's said, "Fighting the Cure for My Grandma" and Will's shirt said, "My Grandma was so brave God made her an Angel" and at the bottom each asked to support lung cancer awareness.

Lexi and Will made posters in remembrance of mom.

I was walking in memory of mom, Mary Otto, Billy Zimdars, Sally Schwersenska and Allen Steinke. I was also walking for Reed Luepke (below) and Chris Stezenski who were walking in the survivor lap. Reed and his mom Lori walking the survivor lap. Chris (left) and her daughter Lori (right) Mom's former employer also has an annual team that does the walk. This year they were doing it in memory of mom. Thanks ladies..that was so nice. They put together a picture board... and even had a Christmas tree (mom's favorite holiday) on their table. My sister Heather and Lexi...

Visit with Nana...

Since Lexi was on spring break this week, I took off from work on Friday so we could spend the day with my Grandma. We try to do a sleepover over at least once a year at Nana's house. So we headed up Thursday night. Once the kids were sleeping Grandma and I stayed up talking until midnight about what it was like for her during her childhood years and early married years. I love family history..so it was nice to hear some of the stories I haven't heard before. On Friday we baked cookies and went through some old pictures. The time went so fast we decided to do it all over again next month. Love you Grandma!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa...

Grandma Joanne and Papa Ron gave the kids gift cards to make a bear at the mall for Valentine's Day. Lexi was on spring break this week, so on Monday we had a fun day and spent all hours that she was supposed to be in school on my day off doing fun things with mom. After bumming around at a few stores we had a nice lunch and then went to make their bears. They both created very cute animals, although the cell phones that you could purchase for the bears was a huge hit with them also. Lexi named her bear Peace and Will named his puppy dressed as a Star Wars character George. It was a little hard to come up with names on the spot..lol.

So cute...

I straightened Lexi's hair a few weeks ago and took this picture of her before she was leaving to go to a birthday party. Too cute not to share.
