Happy Birthday Leighten

Happy Birthday Leighten Fischer!
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday dear Leighten...
Happy Birthday to you!Leighten is a very special person in my life. Not only is she my niece, but also my godchild. We have been close since she was very young and I hope to continue our friendship for years to come. (although I may lose her for the teenage years) I try to spend as much time with her as possible and invite her on our family outings.
I hope you have a wonderful birthday Leights!
We love you! Rick, Melissa, Lexi and Will

Annual Pool Party...

Every year we have a get together at my Uncle Gary and Aunt Emily's house in honor of my Grandma's birthday. Although it rained in the afternoon, everyone had a good time.

I wasn't going to post this pic because of Will wearing Lexi's old life jacket (we forgot his), but thought maybe the Spiderman arm bands would make up for the pink we dressed him in. Will has been somewhat reserved in the water but apparently since turning three at the beginning of the month he has turned into a little fish. He had a wonderful time swimming around.

Back from the cabin...

We just returned from a short vacation to my parent's cabin in "The Northwoods." The cabin is miles from anyone so it is very peaceful. It does not have running water or electricity, so it is pretty rustic, yet one of my favorite places to visit. The kids really enjoy it too. I wish we were able to go up more than once a year, but it is a lot of packing and hours of traveling so we normally just limit our trip to once a summer. We went up on Wednesday and then the rest of my family came up on Friday. (my parents, sister, her fiancee and his daughter and our niece Leighten) It was our first "family vacation" in a really long time. We had a great time fishing, having campfires and just relaxing. The weather was a bit cool, but only rained one afternoon. The kids enjoyed the wildlife that we normally see when we go which was a couple deer, turtles, loon, and frogs. The newest members to our lake included a family of ducks and a wolf. Yes, that's right a wolf. Not that I didn't think they could exist up there, but actually seeing one was a different story. When Rick and I were walking on the dirt road leading to the cabin, Mr. Nature himself spotted some waste that was larger than the average deer might leave. His guess was that it was a wolf. When Lexi and Rick were out fishing, they actually saw the wolf walking in the woods near the lake. (ugh, I missed a picture opportunity) He (the wolf) didn't realize or care that they were out fishing, but it was enough to make Lexi a bit scared. (and me too) The wood ticks were in fine form too..we are still finding them. Ugh, Yuck! I have quite a few pics on here and the rest are on my face book page.

Lexi caught this big bass on her Barbie pole How many people/dogs can we fit in a small fishing boat. LOL
Will's very first fish.
Leighten must have been carrying a lucky charm because she caught a lot of really nice bass. The only Northern caught during this trip.Lexi playing in the water. Lenny walking the beat.

How does one bathe without running water and electricity? Why you heat water and bathe in a tote, that's how.

Happy Birthday Will...

Happy 3rd Birthday Will!
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday dear Will...
Happy Birthday to you!

I have had so much fun with Will over the last three years. He is such a lovable little boy. Don't get me wrong..the terrible 2's and 3's show their face many times in a week, but for the most part he is such a sweetheart and does and says the funniest things. I treasure the mornings when he comes in and says, "Good morning Mommy" in his sleepy soft voice. Between the age of two and three he has become such a little man. Things are different this time around with a little boy, no more dolls and make-up (well sometimes - ha ha). Now I have to learn about batman, spider man, transformers and superman. Have a wonderful birthday Will Robert. We love you so much! - Mommy, Daddy and Lexi

Birthday Party Fun - Part II...

This past Saturday we had a birthday party at our house for the kids. The weather definitely did not cooperate. Not only was it raining, but it was very cold outside for the beginning of June. It all worked out in the end though, the kids had a great time. Yummy..soda and cake.

Will received a new batman bike from Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt. He also got a batman outfit from Heather and Jim and a superman outfit from Grandma and Grandpa Radies. He looked so adorable in them. He hasn't been out of them for days now. He puts one on for awhile and then changes into the other one. So funny.
Ayden trying out the bike. Looks like he is going 60 mph - LOL He takes the batman role seriously..notice the superhero look on his face. Ha Ha I finally got him to smile..Last Friday I decorated Lexi's room before she woke up with balloons above her bed.Lexi last Friday on her last day of school.
