Happy Easter

Happy Easter to all! We spent the morning looking for Easter baskets and then went out for brunch with my mom's family and Rick's family, there were 30 of us all together. It was nice to see everyone and of course the time went way too fast. Below are some pics of our day.
Lexi and Will following the egg trails at Grandma and Papa's House. My mom got Lexi and Will these big stuffed animals. Too cute..The kids spent Thursday night and Friday night with Grandma Joanne and Papa Ron this week (thank you again for the nice day to myself!!!). One of the fun things they did was to make these cute wreaths out of peeps. They made one for Rick and I and also Grandma Jeannie.Leighten and Lexi throwing the dyed Easter eggs. This is a tradition Heather and I passed down to my kids. When we were kids we used to take the dyed Easter eggs and smash them against the rocks in the woods once Easter was done. (can't do that in the city..LOL) Lexi loves to carry on this tradition..she couldn't wait to do it this morning.
All dressed and ready to go...

Pre-Easter Fun...

On Friday we took our annual trip to the mall to see the Easter Bunny. He was on a break when we got there, so we had to wait in line for a couple of minutes. Soon you could see him walking down the hallway and Will took the opportunity to run and give him a hug. LOLOn Saturday we went to my mom's house and the kids dyed Easter eggs with her.

Date Night...

The kids had gotten tickets for a show this weekend as a gift for Christmas. We realized too late that Lexi had seen the show when we went to Florida, so she opted to trade her ticket for a play date with her friend Maddie. Will picked his friend Abbie to come along and we teased they were going on "a date." He began by picking her up at her house and heading to the show. All of their favorite characters were there...
Funny story...Goofy's eyes got stuck and he did the show with his eyes shut for the last 10 minutes of the show...lol
The kids with their souvenirs...
Handy Manny and the tools...
Pooh, Darby and Tigger
The Little Einsteins...
Rick carrying the kids after the show...
Afterwards Will took Abbie out for dinner...of course he had a "bat table" reserved. LOLAfter dinner they enjoyed a nice carousel ride where they had a lovely conversation...They then enjoyed a motorcycle ride...and finally Will drove her home in his bat mobile...what a fun date!
I can't wait to show you these pics when you are 16 Will! ~ Love Mommy
P.S. Tammy and I will be supervising your dates when you are 16 also!

Nice weather...

Last weekend we went to visit my mom and dad. While we were there my cousin Ella came to visit. The pic below shows Ella and Lexi hanging out.
The three great-grandchilden posing for me. Lexi looks chinese here.
Ella waving to me.
In the afternoon my niece Leighten came to visit and go to a movie with us. Lexi and Leighten realized at bedtime that they had both packed the same pair of pjs. :)
On Sunday we went out to visit Rick's parents. While we were there we took a drive out to the land where Rick wants to build a house. The kids had fun running around picking stones. On Monday it was so nice out that Will and I ate our lunch outside. We also got the dog out for a nice walk and Will spent some time riding his bike. As you can see he is very serious when he takes on the roll of batman.

The circus...

Last weekend my mom and dad took the kids to the circus for a fun filled night under the Big Top. Mom got her wish and was able to ride the elephant with the kids. Lexi and Will both agreed that they really liked the show the elephants put on and the clowns the best. It is amazing the tricks these animals can do.

Oddly enough, I applied for this position (you know the one that they advertised...girl who can bend in crazy positions and shoot a bow and arrow at the same time), but did not get it.

Holly Hobbie...

My little Holly Hobbie...

Lexi had to wear a hat to school today for a special "hat day". If you contributed money to the cancer center in Appleton, you could wear a hat. When we were shopping at the mall on Sunday she picked out this cute hat and shirt. Once she put it on she instantly reminded me of the old Holly Hobbie I knew as a child and also the new Holly Hobbie that kids know today.

Spring is getting closer..on Monday the temps were nice enough that the kids broke out the sidewalk chalk. They are so anxious to shed those winter coats.
